Another highly anticipated project is underway at the junction of East and West Broadway in South Boston. We've kept a close eye on this building long before it was finalized for redevelopment knowing it would be one of the most highly sought after corner lots in Southie. The approved development consists of 3 parcels all originally owned by Frank Sorrenti of Perkins Supply which make up the combined 9,477 SF new lot. Frank was always a friendly guy when we made our monthly visits to gauge his interest in selling the property but he always knew the immense upside potential of his property. Sure enough, plans were submitted by Frank in July of 2016. Fast forward 3 years and we're now watching the demo of Frank's buildings which must be a bittersweet moment. Taking its place will be a 5-story mixed-use building with ground floor retail and access to the underground parking off Dorchester Street (23 spots) along with 4 floors of residential consisting of 18 units in total. (six 1-bedrooms, twelve 2-bedrooms) Although many will miss the convenient access to Dunkin's for their morning java, (myself included) a beautiful building with new retail attractions is yet to come!
