Job Title: Cambridge, MA Real Estate Rental Agent
Job Description: We are a boutique residential real estate brokerage in Cambridge, MA and are seeking a highly motivated rental agent to join our team. As a rental agent, you will be responsible for finding and placing tenants in rental properties throughout the Greater Boston area.
As a Rental Agent with JR Associates you'll learn:
- How to navigate the entire apartment rental process from sourcing and securing your own EXCLUSIVE rental listings to handing off keys, following up, and repeating the process year over year.
- How to organize yourself to be efficient and grow your business year-over-year.
- How to market your listings and branding techniques to help you generate leads and create your OWN brand
- How to convert renters to buyers
- How to properly represent renters and landlords
- Become confident in all the important contracts used in sales and leasing transactions
- How to sell the various types of properties in Massachusetts
- How to represent buyers in Massachusetts
- How to guide and advise your clients through making improvements to their property (JR Associates' design-build branch)
As a Rental Agent, you'll be a 1099 Independent contractor. This means you will make your own hours each week and build your own work schedule. In a 100% commission-based business, you need to be mindful that while you learn the ropes, it can take time to close deals and get paid. But will the proper training, you will gain the confidence and the ability to close deals quickly.
Market available rental properties to potential tenants through various means, such as online advertising and open houses
Show properties to prospective tenants and answer their questions about the property and the local area
Evaluate the needs and qualifications of prospective tenants and match them with suitable properties
Negotiate rental agreements and process applications and paperwork
Communicate with landlords and tenants to ensure a positive and smooth rental experience
Continuously keep updated with market conditions and adjust rental prices accordingly
Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations regarding rental properties
Preferred / Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a rental agent or in a similar role (Preferred)
Strong knowledge of Cambridge and surrounding areas (Preferred)
Strong communication and negotiation skills (Preferred)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (Required)
Valid Real Estate license in Massachusetts (Required)
Ability to work independently and in a team environment (Required)
Strong understanding of landlord-tenant laws and regulations (Preferred)</li>
Reliable mode of transportation (Required)
Cell phone and Laptop (Required)
Immediate start date and a designated desk at our Cambridge Street office.
This is a 100% commission-based compensation.
